The inaugural Queensland Catch Chef is Andrew Mirosch.
Well known to locals and fine food fans throughout Queensland, Andrew has presented cooking segments on lifestyle programs Creek to Coast and Queensland Weekender.
Since being appointed Executive Chef at Restaurant Lurleen’s in 2004, Andrew has managed a team of 15 chefs and apprentices and won ‘Best Restaurant in a Winery’ at the prestigious 2004 Australian Restaurant and Catering National Awards of Excellence. Under his guidance, Lurleen’s also went on to win the ‘Modern Australian’ category at the 2010 Lifestyle FOOD Channel’s ‘I Love FOOD Awards’.
In addition to a busy career as an Executive Chef, Andrew works as a commercial fisher in the Queensland line fishery.
This combination of experiences is a great way to promote the consumption of fresh local seafood – industry is fortunate to have Andrew as the promotion’s representative.
