About Us

At a time when climate change, food miles, carbon food print, healthy lifestyle and the environment are more than just buzz words, consumers are now asking about where their food comes from, how natural it is, and ‘is it local?’

Queensland Catch is all about the diversity of the state’s WILD seafood from the catch, through the supply chain to the end consumer and the men and women who for generations have fished sustainably in this highly managed industry. Queensland Catch is about making consumers aware of the fabulous local seafood products so they become familiar with the different taste, texture, preparation and cooking methods. Queensland Catch is about the integrity of retailers and restaurateurs who are proud to serve quality local seafood to locals and tourists in Tropical North Queensland.

Queensland Catch is an initiative of the Queensland Seafood Industry Association
to assist the fishing industry in Tropical North Queensland.

This project is supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
